Kat, I'm hijacking your post, just in case you don't hear from Alexa or SM right away... Yes - both had surgery and last I heard, both are doing pretty good - now. Sarah Margaret developed severe infections and was readmitted to the hospital for a week but was released right before Christmas. I hope you'll hear from Alexa & Sarah Margaret personally so I can get an current update on them, too. Vickie J.

Kathy, I'm doing very well. Thank you for asking! I had a little set-back after my BL/BA and had to go back in the hospital for 1 day but have fully recovered now. It has been a busy year trying to squeeze all my plastics in during 2006 but I accomplished everything I planned to do. Now I've got to get back to the gym to tone up & build some muscle. I hope to post some new pics on my profile... eventually. Hope your new year is off to a great start! Vickie J.

Sorry Sarah has had these problems but did we really expect any less from her? LOL....Kathy you sound like my PCP she asked me "can't you do anything the easy way?" I started to say that my PFO clousure was easy, but then remembered only for me and not the for doctors who was dripping with sweat after having to deal with my abnormal heart anatomy. I can't help it that I seem to have a medical black cloud following me...but hey it does seem to quickly let the sun shine through. I'm posting a longer update to the board...I had just come over to post it and started it reading posts... Sarah

aww thank you for remembering...... yes i had my surgery... about 4 weeks ago now... im doing great.... it was very painful but WELL worth it.... im still very swollen ...no problems... everything is healing nice... my incision is very itchy..... and especailly front end... so i was around all day trying to "rub not scratch".... i bet i look very lady like scatching my butt and whoo haaa all day.... i went back to work 2 weeka after surgery.... huge mistake.... but thats ok... all is well now... and i cant wait to get back in the gym... how are you?.. sarah is now doing well... her mother was down for a few weeks to help her out after her surgery...she had an infection but hasnt ran a fever for sometime now so i think the infection is gone.... hope your well lex

We are going to have a get together just so we can see how beautiful you three look! We may not even recognize you gals! I am so happy for you all that you have made such progress and you life is so easier since you aren't carrying all those extra pounds. I can hardly wait for it to be my turn. I was supposed to get my heart cath Jan. 3 (WEDS.) but it was cancelled because of some insurance problems. Now I am beginning to think that was a blessing in disguise. I was sick as a dog yerterday. I have been fighting this cold since before Christmas and taken two rounds of antibiotics. I woke up with my pain syndrome in full flare (I don't know if I told you that I have beenhaving this pain thing since Feb. They thought at first I had fibromyalgia but I recently saw a rheumatologist who said everything points to Polymyalgia Rheumatica (PR) instead of Fibro. Anyway when I get overly stressed out or sick I get this pain all over. It starts in my hands and fingers and quickly spreads from head to toe. So this morning I woke up with cellulitis in my right thigh. (Sarah I know you have a lot of experience with that) I have had it probably about 20 times now. It used to only be in my left lower leg but a couple of years ago I started getting it in my right lower leg too but the last couple of times it has started in my right thigh. Anyway I went to the doc this afternoon. I have Cellulitis, Bronchitis, and my UTI is back plus the PR flareup. Yeah I feel like crap! I got a big shot in my butt, a breathing treatment and three prescriptions. Thank God for insurance! Anyway that's why I say it was probably a blessing that the cath was cancelled. Hopefully I will get better real soon and then can get that darned cath that I have been working on for over a year done!!!! Ya'll pray for that for me please!!! I have my letter of medical necessity from my doctor written and ready for him to scan it on their letterhead and sign it. He was supposed to write it for me but he wrote about 2 lines on a prescription pad. I was really disappointed and yeah a bit angry about that because I gave him a sample letter and the insurance coordinators card in case he had any questions about what needed to be inn the letter and then he comes out with that mess. I had to wait a few months before I could even address it with him. I told him thatwhat he wrote wasn't thorough enough. So he told me to let him know what needed to be in it and he would write it or I could write it for him if I wanted and I did. He says "You're a nurse make it sound good." Hopefully I did. Anyway I am hoping that I can get approved soon and be able to have my surgery in the next month or so. At least my the end of March. Red is saving me room on the losers bench! aww you always make me feel so good about my self when i feel so crappy.... my incision just ripped open a freakin month later... it was healing so nice.... my ex said i look like frankenstin..... ty for the complements..... funny thing was i was looking at them this week to... how are you?
