Hi everyone! First of all I wish you all a Very Happy New Year! Next remember I had to lose a total of 65 lbs. to get my heart cath done before my cardiologist would clear me for surgery...Well I have now lost a total of 74lbs. My cath was scheduled for tomorrow 1/3 but an insurance snafu caused it to be cancelled. The person that I spoke to at TRICARE today said she was sending the referral to the nurses with the message that they must within 72 hours either Find an in metwork physician to do my cath OR approve the referral to Dr. Bittl in Ocala for the cath. Sooo I should know by Friday who and can reschedule it. I will let you guys know when and where. SO once the cath is done my surgery can finally be submitted for approval. We don't expect any problem with it being approved but I will still be holding my breath until it is. Well gonna run along! Good luck to you all waiting for approval! Kat

Yes Red I have. The first time I looked into WLS the surgeon was requiting me to lose 100 pounds before he would schedule my surgery. I lost about 80 lbs. Then I got so sick on his 600 pound diet. After that I decided I could do it on my own and chickened out of the surgery. So this time the surgeon would have gone ahead and scheduled me but my cardiologist wants the cath. Of course I was too heavy for every table in the world (almost). The guys in Ocala can accomodate up to 500 lbs but I was over that so I had to get under 500 to get the cath to get the clearance for the bypass. SO I have finally made it! I am very excited but scared at the same time. But I can't wait. It has been 14 months since I first started trying the 2nd time to get the surgery. It took me that long to lose what I needed to lose. Oh and my BMI has dropped by about 10 points. So I am hopeful that the rest of this will go without a hitch and I will be on the losing side very soon! I can hardly wait! Kat
