Ok, I am just 3 weeks post op and I have so many questions. Can I really frustrate my weight loss at this time? I have been trying really hard to stick to the purree food. Sometimes it is almost impossible because I am on the road a lot b/c of my job. Like the other night I stopped at Popeyes and ordered mash potatoes. It was the best thing I could think of. I had been out all day and was feeling weak and hungry. the other day I had chili from Wendy's again it was the same senario, I was out all day and feeling weak and hungry. I chewed it up really well and had less than 4oz. I didn't get sick at all. I also had a small cookie, (less than half a cookie) I mashed it really well in my mouth before swallowing. I have lost 20lbs so far. I wi**** was more. I don't know if I am screwing it up. How many calories should I be eating a day? How much weight should I be losing a week? Can I have tuna fish? Can I have eggs? Can I smoke?

Diana, Welcome to the losers side! Call your surgeon and ask those questions but I can tell you that smoking will delay & impede your healing. Tissues don't heal as well when you smoke and can cause larger scars. Not to mention it just isn't healthy for you anyway. Vickie J.

Thanks guys for the response. I am actually happy to say I decided against smoking, I had not touched a cigarette at least 1 month before surgery (doctor's orders) and I have not touched one since, I do get cravings but I did a lot of research and they say the nicotine does not let you heal properly etc. It is a good thing to stop anyway! New Year New Life!!! MMMMUUUUAAAAA to all
