SHALLOW PEOPLE

Is anyone out there experience the following words said to you? "wow, you look awsome, I bet your husband/wife can't keep their hands off you now" I sometimes don't know how to read into that, but I can't help but feel they are such shallow comments. I have been very happily married for the last 19 and a half years, to a most wonderful human being. He loved me when I was heavy, and loves me now, but to him I am still the same person he married. Granted, I have lost 106lb and now weigh 124 from 230, but in his eyes I am just as beautiful. My husbands only fear for me when I was heavy was my health and that's my main reason for having this very dangerous surgery. It's amazing at how people look at you before and after and they, themselves must have very shallow spouses who would probably run away if they so much as gained 5lb. I feel very blessed to have my husband who loves me unconditionally, I only hope that you have the same uncondition love in your lives. Thank you. Joanne

Yes, people say that to me all the time. Actually its funny that someone even would say something like that, but I let it roll off my back. Normie loved me fat, and he loves me thin. Now, honestly, he thinks I look sexier thin. And I think that is what people are referring to, I think they are giving us a compliment in an odd way. You are right, there are people that are all about weight....and that is sad. Glad we have some good guys. blessings, Tami

Like Tami, I hear it all of the time. I am sure that it was meant as a compliment (for both my DH and me) and they just got tongue-tied. But wouldn't people go red if I told them that I was getting pretty "busy" before surgery, too? Kristen
