I am almost 3 mths out from surgery and about to order my vitamins again. I use the chewable bariatric advantage brand. Is that pretty much the favorite for RNY patients?? If anyone has a brand they find works could you let me know so I can read about them. I really would love to stop the chewable type if there is a pill form. Thanks for any response.

HI Debbie: Congratulation on your three months after surgery. I also couldn't tolerate the chewables, so I switch to Vista Vitamins. They are 4 capsules for AM and 4 capsules for PM. You can log into bariatriceating.com or Vistavitamins.com Good luck. Heidi

I like the vista vitamins too. My labs have all been great, the only thing I add is b complex here and there and injectable vit b12. I couldn't stand the chewable, and wanted good quality vitamins. Can't skimp there, its too important for us. blessings, Tami

I love the Building Blocks convenience packs. Although the chewables are tasty (especially the new orange creme calcium), the capsules in the grab n' go packs are great. You can order them at http://www.bbvitamins.com Kristen

I have been using Andrew Lessmans vits and supplements for 25 yrs. All fine powder caps with no additives, no hard pressed tablets that do not dissolve...best quality I have found world wide. procapslabs.com

Chewables are not the best tasting but for a new post op..but it depends what your tastes are. Im 2 yrs out and I still take 2 childrens chewable in the morning with my calcium. then later my pills - b complex, glucosamine (for joints), chrominium piccolate for fat burning, milk thisle for liver and biotin for skin, nails, hair. Some people like sublinguals and liquid or pill form. Good luck to u.

I'm just over a year out and still use the chewable Centrum. My friend teases me that I should move on to "big girl vitamins" but I just feel confident with chewable! I've been using the Centrum from almost the beginning and my labs have been just fine. I have a bottle childrens chewables (like scooby lol) and I usually have one Centrum and one of the childrens daily. I also still use chewable calcium citrate, don't think I'll EVER venture away from that, the pill forms of calcium are way too big! I use the Twin Lab wafers and I have the Citracal chewables too, usually the fudge. I get tired of them if I use only one type, so I use both! I'll have 2 wafers with lunch, one wafer with a snack and then the Citracal with dinner. I also take Biotin, Zinc, Selenium and chewable vitamin c. Good luck to you!

Debbie--I currently use Solgar VM-75 multi vitamin capsules. I also take the Twinlab calcium citrate chewable wafers and B-12 sublingual. I have recently added the B-complex capsules--will be switching to Solgar with my next order. I started out using the Vista vitamins and then it was suggested that we would have to supplement that with the calcium and B-12. In my mind, it tuned in to a very pricey multivitamin so I started looking for other alternatives. Solgar uses the chelated minerals which are easily absorbed, as does Vista.
