Hello, I had my surgery WEdnesday, at 7:30 am I dont remember the next hour, but all went well. I am in a lot of pain (it was open), so everytime I cough or get up off a chair.I'm hurting. I'm talking pain pills that put me in la la land.. My arms look like I'm a drug addicted {brusing all up & down arms} I was happy to find out I could have oatmeal for my liquid only diet for the 1st 4 weeks. I can deal with that.. I LOVE oatmeal. My official weight the day of surgery was 259 & 5'4. I will post my hospital pictures & open insision picture when I start to feel better. YEAH...I MADE IT

Julie - let me be the first to congratulate you on being on the LOSER's bench. I guess we all have different pain levels...I was uncomfortable but did not have that much pain..though it was difficult to move around...I found my gallbladder removal more painful. I am surprised that OC is allowing oatmeal during liquid only phase...congrats on finally getting to the other side.........it will soon as pass as we've all been there!! HUGS

Congratulations Julie, we don't take up as much room over here, there is plenty of space!!! lol You will be feeling better before you know it. After I got my spikes out (stiches) I felt alot better, every day was better than the one before. Peggy

Hey Julies - Welcome to the club! God Bless you! Honey - cough, get up off the chair make that pain your own because it will remind you later that you did this for you! I know it sounds crazy but the more you move the less pain you'll be in so as soon as you can manage it WALK!!!! Hope you're feeling better soon! Barbi

Hey Kim, How are you??? I have to admit.. I havent even gone thru my purse where the emails are since Tuesday, the day of nut. class. I feel like I have been hit by a truck. I hope your feeling better than me. I am walking a bit, but I can't seem to stand up straight because my stomach hurts so bad. I wasn't happy, but can't get my staples out till Dec. 7th...My skin will have grown over them by that time..OUCH My email address is [email protected] I'm not even sure where my purse is at this moment to go look for your email.LOL. Email me & let me know how your doing.

whoo-hooooo!!! Sooo glad you had surgery. perseverance paid off Julie!! They are telling you to eat oatmeal the first 4 weeks post op? Yikes! my profile has the food list y doc gave us. we were tols to stay away from carbs till 6 months out, only complex carbs which oatmeal is not. I'd encourage you to check this list out, and stay away from carbs, stick to the proteins, and 60-80 grams of protein a day , which would be 3 shakes at least. you can't absorb or eat enough on your own. This is what has worked for me. glad you are home! Oh, and there is definately room on the bench for you!!!!! hugs, Tami
