advice for a lap bander taking her 1st sea cruise?

I had lap band surgery a month+ ago. any advice about taking a weeklong sea cruise in early dec.? i'm planning to take protein powder, liquid protein tubes, and exercise clothes, because the ship has a nice gym and jogging track. it is royal caribbean. foods? any pitfalls for lap banders?

My suggestion would be to Postpone the Cruise till next year. Even if you haven't had any problems yet what will you do out at sea with no one but yourself to rely on for help. Your only two months out give it at least 6 months and then see.

Best thing to do is call you doctor and ask if going on a cruise is OK. I had Laproscopic GB removal, ovarian cyst removal and adhesion repair and went on a cruise 2 weeks later. Everyone is different so check with your doctor.

My best advice is to talk to your doc and get a release for travel. Ask if you shouldn't bring a copy of your op report so (G-d forbid) if you need emergency medical attention, the cruise medical personnel know what they are dealing with in your case. Kristen
