Alex, You are going thought what i went though. The family reunions were the worst. I had my WLS April 5,2004 i thought i would never stop losing weight. I was also told i looked gaunt and anoxrexic. That i am starting to look old. I was a year out also when i thought this is it i'm going to never stop losing weight. And yes i did look gaunt and my neck looked so skinny. and my check looked hollow. It seems that this is something we go thought after WLS. After the first year we start to fill out. I did anyway. And all my friend that also had the surgery went though the same thing. body will slow down the weight loss and then come to a stop. You will start to gain some of it back. Just enough to start looking healthy. Just enough to start filling out. My shoulders and neck and face has filled out and i'm looking more healthy then i was a year ago. Your body will take care of you and will not let you get to anoxrexic state. People sometimes are just concern but it still hurts when thay say the things thay do. Thay are just use to seeing alot of weight on us. My face has filled out some and that is a good thing it just takes time for your body to get over the shock. Good luck with your appt. Take care Debra
