Quick Update and a little wow moment

Hi Everybody, I haven't posted for a while so just wanted to give a quick update. I have lost about 59-60 lbs since my surgery 3 months ago. Maybe not as fast as others but I am happy with the loss. I am still struggling with the exercise because of my back and knees but I do what I can (mostly trying to walk more). I did have a setback about a week and a half ago. I was having a lot of pain in my right lower back that would not let up. My sister took me to the ER and it turned out I had 6 infected kidney stones. Now mind you I have no history of Kidney stones (they said it could be a result of the Gastric Bypass and the food and vitamins I am now taking). They are trying to determine what caused them and if I can make some dietary changes. At least for the time being I am feeling much better. Now for my mini wow moment. It took 60lbs but I finally have lost two sizes from a 24 to a 20. Some of the 20's are a little loose so hopefully I will be in an 18 before long. Also the last two mornings the scale has said 199 but I won't consider myself in onederland until I am weighed in at the Dr.'s office and the scale says it with my shoes on. (How silly am I). Hope you are all well. Patty

Thanks Jo Ann, It has been quite a ride. I know I will be in 18's pretty soon because the 20's are a little loose. I hope all is well with you. Patty

Hi Gladys, It was good to hear from you and I hope you are doing well. I am planning to go to the postop support group this month. I was ready to go last month and that was the first afternoon I started having the pain with the kidney stones. Unfortunately I waited a week before I went to seek out help, by then the pain was constant and unrelenting. I learned a valuable lesson, to listen to my body if I am in pain that is not normal and go have it checked. See you in a couple weeks. Patty

Gladys and Patty, I went to the support group meeting for the first time last month and I am planning on going to the Nov one. I am excited about meeting you guys as we are newbies to WLS. Everyone in October was 9months to years post op. They were great inspirations but its nice to talk to those going through what your experiencing. Anyway, hope to meet you both soon!! Mindy

Hi Mindy, I had intentions of going to the October meeting but that was the afternoon the pain in my kidneys started and I didn't think I could sit through a meeting. I am so looking forward to the meeting this month. I can't wait to meet you, it has been quite an experience and like you said it will be nice to talk to others who are just going through the process. See You soon. Patty
