One year anniversary-lost 120lbs so far
Hey group. Yesterday was my one year anniversary for my lab/rny. I am doing pretty well. I was in the hospital yesterday for a gastroscopy. Back to pain and such. My stricture was back with a vengence but I think my beloved gastro man took care of it. I cant go back and forth to my surgeon, 266 mile trip and no one to care for mom. So found a wonderful MD here in Orlando to help me. Such a mench. I have 20 lbs to go. that is my goal. I feel so much better. I still use insulin pump but instead of 150 units a day and not good blood sugars to 17 units a day and much better BS. Also, I can go off disabilty which was my biggest goal for me with this surgery. Yup, back to work. Thank you God, Dr Rosenthal and thank you Medicare. When I started this journey my biggest goal was working and of course maybe extending my life. Thank you Dr Anil Kumar, my cardiologist. This "gentle man" first suggested I look into this surgery. As he said to me "you are not a 16 year old looking to get into prom dress, this is you LIFE". I cant say enough about this superb MD. Pardon my gushing. There is hope and life out there. Life is not perfect and is not supposed to be perfect. But Now I have some true understanding. Dont let anyone influence you on your weight loss journey. Listen to your inner self. Turn a deaf ear to friends and family that are negative. Do your homework before and after surgery. Get MENTAL HELP. There was a reason you had put on so many layers, whether to protect your self or whatever. Keep Growing and cherish the changes youve made. I am still on my journey. And will share it with anyone that is interested. My love and strength goes out to all that need help.
