Home From Surgery

Hello everyone, I got home from surgery on Tuesday-went in on Friday morning at 6:00am surgery started at 8:30am and it lasted until 5:30pm it was on supposed to last for 3 hours at the most but their were quite a few setbacks. Anyway i am home now feeling pretty good but I have a little infection in the main staaple site(10 staples) it turned red and got feverish, no drainage but is tight and hurts quite a bit. The main question that I have for anyone that can help me is, did anyone have trouble with their first bowel movement? The gas took a while to start moving but still no bowel movement! I have drank warm coffee with sweetner no sugar ofcoarse and it still did not help. I have also walked 15 min 4 times as a day directed by my surgeon and nothing still. Can someone give me any info on maybe how long it took you? And I want to say thanks so much for all of your support and prayers throughout this whole ordeal! Walking helps to get things moving and relieve gas. I made it a point to get up and walk every hour (except when I was sleeping ) for at least 5-10 min. It takes that to wake everything up inside. Plus the pain meds will cause constipation also. Have you tried Milk of Magnesia? CALL YOUR DR. FIRST.....they are all so different I hope you feel better soon :hugs:
