Hey floridians!

I posted somewhere but for the life of me I can't find it! Ok..I am here in jax from georgia..my home is north atlanta (alpharetta/roswell area) and I moved to St. marys for two years then down here. Looks like I'm making my way south huh? I will always be a georgian....sorry yall I just love my home and I wish I were there. Maybe I will like it better soon..I hope. I am looking for a WLS support group here in jax. I know there is a bandster group..any RNY'ers? I have lost 200 pounds in less than 15 months I have about 75 to go until I reach my personal goal. None of my clothes fit, all comically hang on me like clown clothes and these were donated to me lol. I also need to find a good WLS friendly PCP in jax (i'm at Blanding) who takes medicare...does one such exsist? Can't wait to meet some of you lovely people. Take care, Donna

Donna: I'm pre-OP; but I plan on doing my support groups in the Ormond Beach area (about an hour and half from Jax). I'm not familiar with that area - maybe try one of the larger hospitals in JAX that do the surgery and maybe they direct you to someone closer. Sigourney

Hi Donna, Welcome. I had my surgery with Dr. Jawad in Ocala. I recently found out that has an office in Jacksonville now. I am not sure about the insurace, but he is a wonderful dr. Elena
