Colonoscopy

Good morning all! Did any of you have a colonoscopy done after your surgery???? I am concerned about having to drink that gallon of liquid and not being able to due to the size of my new pouch!!! I asked the doctor about taking the pills but he said they are not as efficient! Any sugestions???? Thank you for your hep!!!

I have only had to drink about 6 ounces of the Fleets for bowel prep before mine. What is the gallon of stuff?

The day before I am to have my colkonoscopy I have to mix this powder called Miramax (or something to that efect) with a quart of Crystal Light....and I can't see me being able to drink all that in 3 hours!!!! I thought maybe someone has done it before and could help!!!

Jackie no matter if it's a Quart or a Gallon. Just start out earlier than suggested in the Evening the night before and drink as much as possible. It's too really, really clean your colon out. It's a Strong Laxative and you'll need to stay close to a Toilet! It's ok and won't disrupt anything in your now re-routed system. But once you start no more eatting of anything. Drinking is ok but try to not let it be anything of a Red color. It does come in Flavors if the Pharmacy carries them, but otherwise it'll taste like chalk. I enjoyed my Colonoscopy, I was asleep the most part but I forgot to ask for a copy of the film for as I have no kids that were made to watch at other friends houses of their kids I would've shown my adventures. LOL. You'll do ok and before you know it. It's over and your going home. Mike

I know how it goes....it is the best sleep I ever had...I usually get real sick drinking that nasty liquid and was afraid now with the new pouch that it will be even worse. I could do 100 colonoscopys....I just can't do the prep...I know...it makes no sense...but I just get SOOOO sick the day before!!! I will try and rememeber the great sleep and pray that it is over real fast! Have a great weekend and thanks!

I also have to get one done in a couple weeks, i was told to drink only about 8oz the day before then at 5am the morning of the procedure (which is at 11am) i have to drink the rest. You may want to check out those options, what time are u having it done? Good Luck, Joanne
