Surgery tomorrow.....
Hi all, I have surgery tomorrow, I hope all goes well. I am concerned there will be a lot of scar tissue from my WLS 6 years ago. I had the vertical band put on and now I am having it removed as I am sick a lot and have gained 50 pounds, I still have kept the 102 pounds off. IThe band has a very low sucsess rate and I fall into the good rate to have kept still all that weight off in 6years. I have a breakdown/staple line break and so this has been apart of why i am sick and have gained. I will be having the RNY also after he removes the band he will perform that. I am scared but looking forward to not being sick from the breakdown. Sharron Osborne had the vbg dom=ne and is having it removed in December she has had a 15 pound weight gain in a year. i gained mine in less than or so but have maintained 200 pounds since January of this year. Please pray for a fast recovery, I just wanted to post and if anyone wants to reply that would be wonderful. Please check out my profile and you can read my journey so far..lol Tak ecare all.. Hugs..Dawn We have a new profile and mine is under the old one, I have not had time to switch all over.
Hey Dawn - it started in early sept with Unexplained fevers and cramping. Mid Sept I ended up in the hospital with Cellulitis @ the Naval from the 2 surgeries in less than 3 months (rny and Lap Oopherectomy (ovaries removed)).
Fevers and cramps continued and then diarrhea set in. I lost about 15lbs since sept.
Listen to your body and insist on your dr's completely evaluating you. I thank my PCP for his insistance. I had every test out there and finally Dr Rosenthal decided to go in a take a "look" since none of the test were coming back with results to match the symptoms.
I hope all is well with you!
Please keep us posted!
