Woohoo I have my surgery date set for 10/26. I already did my pre-op testing and am waiting for Thursday morning for my lapband. Thanks to Dr Erbella and Dr Bunch and all their staff, also a big thanks to Michelle Adams at Manatee Hospital and the rest of the staff there for there excellent care during my pre-op testing. I started my pre-op diet yesterday and boy is it tough when I smell something cooking. Broth, protein shakes and jello just isn't the same. Anyone have any suggestion on protein powders or drinks that taste better. This Atkins shake is like liquid cardboard without the fiber LOL. Actually I'm so excited it doesn't matter if it taste like rocks.

Congratulations Juan, I know the wonderful feeling & excitement. Re; drinks...try Slimfast "Low Carb" it has good taste and no sugar...I put a scoop of "Unflavored Unjury" in it and blend which gives me 40 grams of protein a drink. Good luck and will look forward to seeing you post again with update.

Congratulations. I know you ae excited. I pray for your speedy recovery. I am 2 1/2 weeks postop. I feel your pain with the liquid diet and others eating around you. But for me it was well worth it.

Juan Antonio - Dios te bendiga - God Bless you - I'm from Naples/Bonita area too and I encourage you to join our 3oz club meetings @ the Old Cleveland Clinic in Naples on Pine Ridge Road. We meet in the physicians dining room @ 5:30 on the 3rd tuesday of each month - it's a great place to meet other WLS friends and we have incredible guest speakers. I would suggest trying Isopure whey protein shakes - I loved the Chocolate and Vanilla (adding sugar free coffee flavoring to them to change the taste) Remember to keep walking as much as you can tolerate!
