Fort Myers area, anyone know of any Lap Band Surgeons in the area?

I wanted to know if anyone in the FT. Myers area did the Lap Band surgery? I found a dr. in Port Charlotte but I wanted to know if there was a closer one. Hey thanks!

Hi Laci, I'm in So Ft Myers and don't know of any surgeons here at all that do lapband or gastric bypass. I went to Tampa and very happy I did.

Dr. Liberman at Physician's Regional (formerly Cleveland Clinic) in Naples does it. I think that is probably closer (exit 107) than Port Charlotte.

The only person I have heard of anywhere near is Dr. Rosenthal. They had tried to start a program in Cape Coral and SW Regional but it is my understanding they shut both those programs down.

Hey Lynda, I seem to keep missing you on the board, came back to check on this post and saw your pretty face. How are you? BTW yes you are right about Dr Benetiz and SW Regional. It was a pain for me and a few others too but it sent me to Dr Murr in Tampa and so happy I had that chance. ~Ginny

Hi Ginny-haven't seen you "around" in ages. Sounds like you have done wonderfully. I can't believe your surgery was so long ago--it seems like yesterday. Hope things other than the wls are going well for you. I, too, am doing great--so glad to be healthy again. Re Dr Benitez and the whole SW Regional thing--amazing how sometimes things just work out for the best. Take care.
