Don't know what to do

I was really looking forward to my consult with Dr. Jawad today. Yesterday after I came home from the United Women Confrence in Ohio, My husband inform me that he could'nt get the day off from work to take me to Ocala. I was very angry because he knew 3wks that I had the appointment, and he waited untill last night to tell me we could'nt go. He knew how excited I was . Right now my husband of 22yrs and I are having some maritial problems.2wks ago I found out he was cheating. I really think he's not taking me serious about the surgery. He says he dose'nt think the surgery will help because eating is not my problem, My metabolism is and that I need to get off my butt and execise. Don't eat right . I don't eat breakfast or lunch But when dinner time comes I starved and then I eat junk. Im 41 yrs old 5"3" 245lbs I have high blood pressure ashma and Im always falling and hurting myself. I tired of the weight and I really want to loose it. Last night my overweight was rushed to the emergency room because of chest pain and erregular heart beat. I don't really drive so Im dependent on my husband for the ride to Ocala. He said it's too far to drive from Poincianna. And he dosen't know if or car will make it, we don't have the money for gas. I think it's all excuses. He just called me and told me to make the appt for next Tuesday he will take off then. I don't want to keep making appt and canceling. I tryed the Celebration Bariatric center, But they said I would have to pay 4,000 out fo pocket and Im not working and we don't have 4,000. So with BC/BS Anthem PPO of Florida I decided to try Dr. Jawad in Ocala.

Hi I'm sorry your husband has money to cheat and not to get you to the doctors? Take a cab, get a friend, start driving..... I could not stay in a situation like that... I wish you the best of luck and send big HUGS... but your husband might not like the new self confident you that will emerge after this surgery......you have to decide what you really want for your future and life...

Hi Jean Thanks for your letter. Ocala is about 2hrs away, And I don't have friends or family in florida.Well it seem that I have to put off the surgery for a while, I had to have surgery on my right ankle, So now I can't walk for a while. Im not sure what's going on with my husband, But right now I have to totally rely on him until my leg heals. So Im just looking out for me, Anna

If you really want this done, don't depend on your hubby to get you there. Ask a friend to go with you if you need help with transportation. I do have one question for you in regards to you insurance. Have you already checked to make sure the surgery is covered? I don't know anything about BC/BS Anthem PPO but Blue Cross of Florida has a total exclusion to the surgery, I am hoping yours is different. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Julie

I have to agree with the other posters ... don't rely on your husband to take you to your appointments. I would do whatever I had to do rather it was to call a friend or a cab to get me where I needed to go! I am sorry you are having marital problems but you do need to remember that you are important, you matter and you deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. You need to continue on your path to improve your life and your health!

I hope all worked out OK with you. Dr Jawad requires husbands or wives to attend but maybe he would OK a friend or another relative since your husband is a butt head.

Sound like you need to kick that man to the curve. Trust is everthing in a relationship and he doesnt seem to be keeping up his end. If I treated me wife that way I would expect the same thing. Best of luck
