I've had it with this mess. I want to know if it's possible to have the surgery undone. I sick of being sick every day. I throw up except liquids and I'm 7 weeks postop. I don't have a stricture and I'm taking reglan and I'm still vomiting. I'm over this mess. Does it get any better than this? Help...I'm desperate and feel soo alone. renee

Renee, It does get better. I could tell a difference at about 8-10 wks post op. I know it's rough, but looking back now.....it was worth every gag, every dump, every barf to get where I am now. luvitsunnyv

aah sweetie! What's the reason your doc thinks you're vomiting? I mean did they scope you to make sure you've not got a stricture? I know a couple of people who were told they didn't have a stricture after a barium swallow but when they got scoped discovered that there was indeed a stricture. (((HUGS))) and whatever the cause I hope you get over it soon!

Renee, I just read your profile and yes it'll get better. But slow down a bit. Maybe your pushing yourself a little bit too fast such as exercising. Your only a month & a half out of the running blocks. I had a little problem and it took me 4 months to get into full gear. I know we all want results right now. We've been geared to wanting everything NOW. Such as our eating got out of control well now your in control with a new tool and your going to make it work but give your body time to recoup it's self to be able to handle the new you. Relax a little and enjoy our great weather. Make it through the Up coming Holidays Season and then take off. Mike

Renee called Dr Murr immediately. He does not want his patients to be vomitting. Its not good. I started vomitting at exactly 7 weeks out and turns out I did have a stricture but my stoma was to tight. He sent me for exrays and a catscan and within a few weeks my local gastro dr did an endoscopy fixed my problem, taking care of my stricture and dilating the stomach opening a bit and haven't had an episode since. I promise it will get better, its so worth it. You have the most wonderful and compassionate surgeon. I just adore him. Saw him yesterday (16th) and I would do it all over again with the same man. I am sure if you call Susan she will be sure to get you in ASAP. Keep us posted. ~Ginny

I have called. I usually get one of his interns. I had a barium swallow and it didn't show a stricture. I guess I'll back off on the food and stick to liquids again. If it keeps up after doing a couple of days of liquids then I'll call them back. I've lost 37# since August 23rd. I'm happy about that. I've run into a plateau again though. renee

It does get better, and do you still have your gall bladder? I was sick too, and that was the problem. I hope you feel encouraged by everyone here to hang in there, its a tough ride, but worth while. Remember why you chose to have this surgery, focus on your goals. hugs, Tami
