Hello everyone. I just had my surgery two days ago. Could someone please tell me if there are any books available on meal preps and ideas, specifically for people with Lap-band. I am nervous about not knowing how to prepare the food and getting bored from eating the same thing over and over. I realize I am still a couple weeks away from that yet, but I want to be prepared. (Ideas for all 3 phases would be even greater) Thanks !

Look in the OH Store on the OH website. There are lots of books. The one I particularly like packed with advice & recipes is "Weight Loss Surgeries for Dummies"

I agree - the recipes in the WLS for Dummies book are simple and scrumptious! Best of all, there are recipes for the newly post-op and the graduates, too.

George, I'm happy that I purchased "Eating Well after Weightloss Surgery" by Patt Levine and Michele Bontempo-Saray (ISBN 1-56924-453-7). Each recipe in the book is accompanied by serving guidelines (prepartation guidelines are listed for each of the different eating stages :puree, soft, etc) for Lap band, Bypass, and BPD-DS patients. I am just 25 days out from surgery, but I have been able to enjoy several recipes listed in the book. Good luck with your weightloss journey! GladysS

My Friend, David Fouts actualy contributed all of the recipes in the WLS for dummies book. He has his own web site www.chefdave.org. And has 3 cook books designed for WLS patients. He has very good recipes! Give it a try. Laure
