Hi everyone: I know is to soon, but I believe I hit a plateau. I'm still eating the same 1 1/2 oz of food, lots of water actually 105 oz of fluids. What can I do to keep losing weight?. So far I lost 63 lbs which I'm so happy about that. I'm 3 months post op. It's this normal?. Why do people plateau?. Please help !!!! Thank you and have a nice day, Heidi

Change your patern of doing things. Such as exercise and when you eat. How much do you exercise & walk? You might be doing too much or too little. Do you also keep a Journal of what your eatting and doing? Such as what's going in your mouth, what's the atmosphere around you, how you feel and the same as you exercise. Then look back to when your losing and plateauing. To do what you were doing when losing. Mike Future OH Leader

Hi Mike: I exercise three times a week. I get on my stationary bike for 30 mins. I can't walk much because I have a Neuroma which I'll be having surgery in November, but I try really hard to walk as much as I can. This is my food patern every day: water at 6:00 AM Breakfast: 8 oz of 1% milk 1 1/2 oz of cottage cheese 1 oz of fruit water, water Lunch: Protein shake 1 oz of fruit water, water Dinner: 1 1/2 of of steak, shrimp, pork what ever we cook that day grilled. 1 oz of fruit water I can't eat chicken and vegetables yet :0( it hurts my pouch. I take Vistavitamins so is one little bag in the morning and one in the evening. I have an Ulcer which I take 4 pills a day for two months :0( Some days I take 8 oz of milk with a piece of fruit like around 9:00 PM, but I haven't done it lately. Maybe because I don't have my 1 oz of Banana hahahaha. I also discovered the Strawberry sugar free flavor for your milk I put a little bit to make it feel like I'm drinking the old fashiong milk :0). And this is how I spend my life hahaha. Which I love. I don't eat at work, because I was getting upset and dumping alot, so that's way I take a shake which has 15 g of protein, no sugar, 3 g of carbs. Thank you so much for your reply.

Hi Heidi How many grams of protein do you think you are getting each day? There are a number of protein calculators out there if you need info on the protein content of foods... We have one at http://www.unjury.com/reg/calculator.shtml The reason I asked is because it looks like you might be a little low on protein. Jerome UNJURY Protein

Heide, I would try cutting out all of the milk and the fruit except maybe that 1 oz. of banana for the Potasium it gives you. I believe you'll see a difference in losing then. For calcium take a Calcium Citrate chewable or powder added to each of your protein shakes.

Mike: Thanks for your advice, but I really thought that it will be better to increase the protein intake?. Kinda when we all used to be in the OLD diets and you hit a plateau. The people from LA Weight loss used to say: " ok increase your protein for a couple of days". Anyways thank you for your help. Have a nice day, Heidi P.S You know it's so hard being so limited on food intake for me to cut on my cottage cheese :0(, but I do my best :0)

Eat more protein and vegtables. No carbs... do this for three days and you can put your body back into a ketosis state. This will break the plateau and go back to your old eating plan. I workout everyday except weekends. I use to only work out on the tredmill. Now I've been doing the different classes like kickboxing, bootcamp, latin dancing, techno dancing, happy hour and body sculpting. I had to change things up. I noticed woking on the tredmill made only my legs slim down. Now that I'm doing a variety of things I sweat all over and starting to lose all over as well. I noticed the dancing classes makes me sweat the most. And its lots of fun. I can honestly say excerise is the key to losing the weight. I have my days when I dont fell like it , but I look at my goal ahead. Yesterday I was very sore, but still managed to pull myself together to complete the bootcamp and techno class. Keep up the good work and water is really good. That's a big weight loss factor. I'm right behind ya. I'll be 2 months post op on the 14th. I started at 334 and now weigh 283. I gained some muscle so my weight went up a little. Have fun and enjoy the journey.
