Good morning! I'm looking for any info out there for those who have undergone RNY or any other type of WLS where they have had to be considered for revision surgery for excessive weight loss. Quick update: I had my rny on 11/30/05 - to date I have lost 189lbs avg 19 lbs per month. I am now dealing with a list a mile long of issues as a result of the excessive weight loss. My Dr has put me out of work for std due to complications of the original surgery. I want to be successful and I am diligent in my vitamin/supplement/protein intake as well as drinking my water. HELP!!!!!

Did you get the results from the lymph node tests? Sorry I don't have any information about the other questions...just keeping you in thoughts and prayers.... Sarah

Sarah the Lymphoma test came back negative - thank GOD! I am still having the mysterious fevers/chills - I can range anywhere from 94.7 to 103.1. Bad night sweats, chills, hand and feet are always cold and the tip of my nose is freezing. To add insult to injury I have been suffering miserably from bad back spasms. My PCP seems to feel that this is as a result of the excess skin that's hanging off of me. His conservative estimate is about 25-30 lbs of belly skin. I'm down really down - In July when we saw each other for the wls conference, I was on top of the world, but since my fall on 9/10 and then the subsequent 2 hospitalizations, I have to say I actually was crying one night and wondering if I made the right choice in having had the RNY. My dr has me out on a medical leave and I have applied for FMLA @ work as result. Thank you for your prayers. I am so putting this in GOD's hands right now. For whatever reason, I have a lesson to learn on this path of recovery. I just hope I learn it quickly and regain my strengh. I hope you're well. regards, Barbi

Barb Im guessing you're asking if the revision is to put back some the intestinal tract that was taken out?? My friend Sharon was done distally and she has had some complications due to being distal - for example she hasn't had a solid bowel since surgery so I asked her - if she could be redone where he would put back some intestinal tract back into her so she can have a solid...and she ooh yeah it can be done but then the surgeon doesn't guarantee(no one can) that she won't gain any weight back. So she is destined for lack of a better word to stay the way she is if she wants to keep the current weight off. My question is - do you want to be reversed so that you can get more weight back on??? If it's that that you want then I'd graze and eat a bit more frequently with carbs, verses going through another surgery. Also complications vary from person to person for example one gal in m group has chronic anemia and I'm having liver problems..but no matter what - I wouldn't change a thing..just work with what ails me now. Best of luck to you and I hope you find resolution to your situation (and I hope I understood your question). HUGS
