question about consult!
The places I've gone aren't free consults "nothing in life is free" but they are just regular office visits covered by my insurance. I had to pay my co-pay or the 80/20 depending on which insurance I had at the time. Some surgeons will want a $250 program fee upfront I hear but usually you can attend their information sessions first. Generally, you should find out if WLS is a covered benefit under your insurance but the surgeons office should handle the approval.

As far I know every Bariactric Center has a Free Seminar to learn about the Surgeries they offer & you can ask questions there. Dr. Rehnke's staff then gives you an informatoin packet whi*****ludes a Pre-Patient form which of course you'd fill it out and send in. They then set yiu up with an orientation of the surgery your interested in for $25.00. After which you'll receive your first Surgeon to Patient Consult which cost whatever you co-pay is. You'd have to talk with his office if your selfpay about that fee.
What we did was call the insurance company to find out if bariatric surgery is covered and who are the surgeons in the network. Once we got that information we called the surgeon and made an appt for consultation, at that time we paid the co-pay and visit with the doctor and start the paperwork that they need for approval. best of luck!
