Has anyone out there, who's lost a lot of weight, experienced a lot discomfort in their tailbone? I am going throught it right now and it's so painful, espcially when I sit or even lay down. Thanks. Joanne

Welcome to one of the new things that happen post operatively...not too many people complain about it but I do! I've been feeling it for a year especially when the chairs are wooden or hard plastic. I have to shift from cheek to cheek and sometimes have to stand up cause I can't stand the pain...but they say it goes away (mine hasn't fully yet). Hopefully it will get better for you.

Get a Bigger Foamier Pillow. Out butts are one of the first muscle that seem to lose fat first and were used to having Fluffy Butts not Boney Butts. When it hurts get up and walk around till it stops then you can sit again for a bit. It's sorta our bodies know we did something so it's a automatic alarm telling you to get moving. LOL.

YES!!! My tailbone hurts too! Especially if I'm sitting on a bench or something hard. Even if I'm sitting back in my recliner for a while (which isn't that often since I can't sit still these days with all this energy). Last year my tailbone was the most well-hidden bone in my body I used to enter a room looking for the sturdiest chair to sit in, now I look for the softest! Sorry you are experiencing the discomfort. I hope you feel better soon. Jeanne

I am only a couple of months out from my surgery but I am having a lot trouble with this. I have even placed an additional cushion on my recliner -- but it does not help very much. You know some people have to have surgery to relieve the pain. Red

I have to use 3 pillows in my chair. I have lost a total of 207 from my heaviest and my tailbone sticks out very far. I went on a roadtrip a week ago..10 hours in a car kills the butt! Tracey

Yeah i was calling everyone saying my ass hurt...they laughed at me. When go out with friends riding on Harleys it is horrible too. I need a butt implant.

funny u should mention the implant thing, i received a reply about someone actually thinking about doing that after her painful tailbone, i would rather suffer than have the fat put back in. But each to their own i guess!
