Foods and liquids feeling heavy

Hey everybody! I am almost 4 weeks post op, and I was wondering how long food and liquids will feel heavy. Everything feels like it just drops into my pouch like a rock. About the only thing that I can handle is Achievone drinks and cold water. Everything else I try to eat just feels bad. Any advice? Thanks!! Mindy

Hi Mindy - it takes a full 6 weeks to get full internal healing so hopefully you are taking things s l o w l y when drinking and eating. If I eat fast which sometimes I don't even notice - I get the back up feeling of heaviness in my esophagus or pouch entrance. Since all the plumbing is so new for you this may be happening. Just take it easy - and with liquids just take sips...hope this helps.
