Questions about Lap Band...

does anyone have any sites that they like about the lap band????? how long does theport stay in?

I do not have a lap band but I just came home from a lap band seminar about an hour ago. The port stays in forever. You can have it removed but the surgeon would reccommend against it. If you keep it in and you begin to gain weight back they can fill it and you will lose again. Kat

That the whole ideal about lap band, the port stays, but if you ever want the band out, its reversable. But, why would you ever want to. I've had mine in 3 years this month, it a lifesaver. I had a tummy tuck, my port is right next to my belly botton, I know its there, and let me tell you it a reminder to not eat to much. Its safe. Yes, every opertions has its problems, but lets face it when your overweight we have alot of problems, what ever you decide, do your homework, and know this is a life choice, you want to live longer and healther.
