MEDICARE VS. UNITED HEALTH CARE
I'm blessed to have the option the of MEDICARE or UNITED HEALTH CARE the only thing is I would have to wait for the united health care to kick in im a newly wed and can get the united health through my husbands insurance with a copay of 1,000.00 for surgery.
The medicare requires my doctor who is an a$$ to write a letter and doesnt want to help out although he did it in 2002 when I was denied by those jerks a blue cross and blue sheild due to exculsion. It's seems that now that i am disabled alot of doors get slammed in my face:'(
Any suggestions I was recently diagnosed with pcos I have a whole list of comorbids and bmi of 42.9 help any suggestion I would appreciate it!! :-s
Judith you have a few more Options too!
First - when your on Medicare you have a choice of other Insurance companies to manage your Medicare account plus offering you many more benefits. You'll need to check the Medicare Website to see which of these Insurance Companies is offered and what they offer in your area. I use Humana Gold Plus which now is paying for both the RNY & the Lap Band now. And besides Zero Co-Pay for my Primary visits & Generic drugs, I get a free gym membership. My Co-pay for my RNY was $250.00
Second - Even if you stay with straight Medicare change your Primary Doctor. If you go with a Supplement Insurance company, you'll need to use a doctor on their list anyway. But before choosing one interview them to make sure their Weight Loss Surgery Friendly.
Good Luck & please keep your OH profile up to date so we can follow how you do and you could inspirer someone else in your future, Mike
