Anyone know the Cent. Fl Bariatric surgeon's name..not Kim

I was reading this articile in my Dr office last week & it has the name of a bariatric surgeon I had never heard of in central florida. Not Dr Kim or his associates in that office(can't afford there start up program fees). I was debateing if I need to start all over again with a new Primary Dr to get ins. approval, maybe I should try a new surgeon also. Thanks for your info.. I looked under Bar. sur. on this web site but did not see him.

I first tried getting approved through Dr. Michael Butler's office in Orlando and then Dr. Keith Kim's in Celebration. I have absolutely nothing good to say about either office. I was lied to about many things and wasted alot of money and time waiting on approval for surgery. Long story short after a year and half between the two practices, I could not deal with them any longer. I heard some good things about Dr. Jawad and his staff in Ocala. I made an appointment and had surgery 2 1/2 months later. I wasted about $1500, a year and half of my life and I also gained about 70lbs while using Dr. Butler & Dr.Kim's practice. Moral of story= Dr. Jawad and his staff are wonderful, sincere and honest. I would highly recommend them to anyone considering surgery. Good Luck!!!

This is very disturbing news to me. I have just started dealing with US bariatrics. So far, I have found the opposite of what you have said. Time, will tell though. I hope your wrong. Once I made the call to their office, I had a phone consult with Dr. Kim, two days later. He was very nice and answered all kinds of questions and gave me a run down of the procedure. We talked about 20 minutes. The girls from the insurance office have called me sometimes twice in one day. They even went as far as calling my Dr., here in R.I., for medical information. I'm sorry, it was a bad experience for you. I guess I will have to keep on top of things. Nancy

I know, that's just one person expressing their opinion. I have carefully researched US Bariatrics patient feedback and felt very comfortable contacting their office. Hello, I just wanted to make somthing clear... I had the info meeting with Dr Kim & have nothing but nice things to say about them. My only issue was I can not afford the start up program fee & the fact I have to use there PSYC. dr, which both together cost about $800 to $1000, not counting my 10 or 20% I will pay after ins. pays. But I thought Kim & his staff were nice & the hospital was awesome. Butler on the other hand...I have heard bad stories about him & his practice. I know your bound to hear them about every Dr, but this was 100% bad from EVERYONE I had talked to...this was in Dec.05 & Jan 06, when I 1st started looking into WLS. I know Jwarld in Occalla & that wasnt who was on this health article newspaper. He was in Orlando. It wasnt Harold Lou either..I did NOT like him at all.. I met him at his info session. I am going back to that Dr next month, so I will grab that article & get his name...all I remember was I thought I knew the names of all of them around here & I did not know his name...I will let you all know what his name is..in case anyone wants to know as bad as me..LMAO A new friend of mine's husband just had surgery Aug 10th w/ Jwarld & had great things to say about him & his staff. She had to fight Aetna for 8 months..just like me. I had my mind set of Overcash, so I'm thinking if I'm going all the way to Ocalla, I would use him. BUT if I was to switch it would be awesome if the office were closer to me.

You are probably referring to Dr. Jawad in Ocala. He has a website where you can get a great deal of information about his practice. He offers informational meetings in Kissimmee (not Celebration) and Ocala, I think every month. I went to one of the meetings in Ocala, and also attended one of his support group meetings in Orlando last month. His staff gave valuable information and seemed to be pretty up front about everything. I plan to use Dr. Jawad for my WLS, which I hope to have by January. Good for you Julie!!! My primary is Jeffery Downing, his office is in Casselberry on Red bug lake road, between 436 and tuskawilla, almost in the middle. He helped me get approved,and had someone in his office have surgery too, and referred several other patients. I love the staff at that office. I had Dr Kim, and absolutely loved my experience with usbariatrics. There will always be bad experiences....but both Dr jawad and Dr kim are fantastic and have helped many. Hey Tami... Thanks to Heather I found a great Primary. Dr Caggiano, he is 3 minutes from my house & he got Heather approved( a Dr who knows what he's doing..YEAH)..so thats 2 plus's right there. I had to send in my external appeal on Monday...I kinda forgot about it & when I remembered it, I only had a few days left until it was too late (60 days from last denial). So I threw that together quickly, so I don't have high hopes for that. Hope all is going well for you. I won't be able to go to the Alt. Meet & greet on the 7th, thats my son's 10th birthday party that day..so I'm gonna have my hands full. Take Care Julie
