Postop
Well I am finally home. After a few complications and 6 days in the hospital I am out. I am 9 days post op and I have to say today is the first day that I do not feel like I have been absolutely run over by a Mac Truck. It would seem that no matter how prepared I thought I was I was definitely not prepared enough. I am still not even sure I have done the right thing at this point,
but I do now know that if I was going to be torturted day after day, I could not take.
Today is the first day that I have not had to take pain medicine regularly every 4 hours. I don't consider myself a wimp, three natural childbirths, and I mean NATURAL, but this pain was completely unbearable at times. I don't know if it was just because it was constant with no end in sight, from my complications or just a combo of everything, but I do not that it has made me change my mind about having elective cosmetic surgery. I am not tyring to sound like a pessimist, but I am feeling like one.
Here's to hoping I start feeling better soon. Thanks.

Well your an Old Nurse hun, so now you know as with your children's birth how your patient's feel. Your past the worst of it and you'll do great now. Remember to keep walking! Every movement helps. And keep sipping as though you've sprung a leak in a fish tank. What complications did you have? Tell us so we can understand your pain.
And remember to keep updating your OH Profile so other behind you to come will be inspred by your story & progression to the new you, a heathier & much more vibrant yunger feeling Nurse.
Don't hesitate to ask even the silliest questions but if your in pain or something call your surgeon first. Please.
Your body has been through a lot, pain meds are your friend right now. You are not a wimp, consider what your poor insides have been through. Glad you are home safe, rest, walk, water, protein, vitamins, rest, walk, water, protein vitamins....pain medication...rest.......get the idea?
blessings, Tami
I'm so sorry that you are having such a rough start! My goodness! I pray you will begin to get some relief and that your days will get better as each day passes. It is not unusual to have "buyer's remores" and wonder if you have done the right thing when you are so miserable. Don't be afraid to take the pain meds if you need them. Your body can heal better if you are not constantly in pain. Did you have open or lap procedure?
Take care of yourself.
