Hi all. I just got home a week after my surgery was delayed by too high a INR and too much ado about a big blow named Ernesto. My doc finally had the OR opened on Wednesdaythe 30th even though it was supposed to be closed. I was so glad to have it over. I just got home today after some cardiac complications that were somewhat resolved. I am having trouble lying in bed even though I didn't sleep very much last night and I'm exhausted. I keep feeling slightly nauseous I haven't "eaten" anything. All I can keep down without nausea is plain water. Oh well, at least it's done and I know I'll feel better tomorrow. Hope everyone is well. Best regards, Noreen

Hi Noreen, I'm glad that you are home from your surgery. I hope that things start going a little smoother for you soon. I am having my surgery tomorrow, and I'm taking a few last minutes gulps of liquids before I can't have any more. I want them to be able to find a vein on me tomorrow, so I want to be as hydrated as I can. Speedy recovery! Mindy

Best wishes to you, too Mindy. After your surgery, you won't be taking any "gulps" of liquid! I did that without thinking on the second or third day after surgery and thought I'd die from the pain. Just remember to take it slow! Fondly, Noreen

using a pillow on your left side will help. But you must have protein, so sip that protein shake girlfriend. take your pain medication if you need it, that may be where the nausea comes from. you do not want to get dehydrated. So remember, water and protein, and walk. If the nausea continues, and you just can't eat, call your doc. He may give you compazine supposatory or something to counter the nausea. Please be careful. Glad you are home safe. blessings, Tami
