headed to Miami next week

I'm not sure exactly what my schedule will be like, but I'm flying in Monday night and leaving late Thursday afternoon ... I'm sure I'll be pretty busy, but would love to meet up with people in the area ... particularly if there is a support group going on!! Karyn

Hi Karyn I'm in the other end of the state from Miami so I can't give you any information about support groups down there, but I did want to wish you a nice visit to Florida. Actually, I wish I was headed to Miami and then down into the Florida Keys. That is where I grew up!! - Betty

Hi Karyn Welcome to South Florida. I am in the Ft. Lauderdale area. The first week of the month is pretty light on support groups. There will be one at Cedars Medical Center in Downtown Miami on Wednesday evening. I don't know where you will be in Miami so I don't know if that is close for you. I will not be attending because I am having plastic surgery with Dr. Shuster on Tuesday morning. Let me know if you need more info. Enjoy your visit. Paula

I would definitely like to try to attend Wednesday's meeting ... can you forward me details, time, address, who runs it, etc. (I'm staying at the Hyatt in Coral Gables ... have no clue on logistics around there) Sorry I wouldn't be able to meet you there, but I wish you well on your plastics (hopefully I'll be there SOME day) ... what all are you having done? The meeting is at Cedars Medical Center 1400 Nw 12th Ave, Miami, FL 33136 (305) 325-5511 It is held at 7pm in the out patient services area. There is a parking garage. Take your parking ticket into the meeting. They will stamp it so you won't have to pay. The surgeon is Dr. Nestor de la Cruz (very cute). The meeting is usually run by a staff member i.e. dietician or psychologist. Tell them I sent you and have a good time. Paula WLS Veterans
