Hi everyone, I havent posted in a while, I had my surgery on August the 14th. I started out at 333. I'm now 309. Should I have lost more weight by now? I started going to the gym last week to help the process. How long did it take before you started seeing a big change or weight loss? I havent dropped a dress size yet, starting to feel down. Any suggestions that will help promote more weight loss!! I am greatful that I havent had any complications or promblems since the surgery. I've been eating well and scars healed the second week of surgery. Little headachs here and there from not taking in enough water. So far so good!!!

24 lbs in about 2 weeks - that's very very good. I had only lost 18 lbs in my first 2 weeks and thought I'd never get to goal (which by the way I haven't yet). You are still a newbie and it's not a race. Follow doctor's orders and rules for losing weight from this day forward. You are still in the recovery stage. Up to 3 months you can get strictures and minor complications, so be careful with any physical activity - so long as you have clearance from the doc but still take it easy you are still healing inside. Your body is still getting used to the whole new plumbing and adjusting. Just know it's not a race...it will take a long time to get to goal...like me Im closing in on 2 years and Im not at goal but I am happy with my progress though far...I would have never dreamed of losing 130 lbs without surgery and the rest of the 20-30 to goal will happen if Im diligent and back on track. So give yourself time.

Hi, I've been waiting to see an update from you!!! Sorry you missed the OH event...but you had a much better gig!!! LOL... Girl you know you know you're not allowed to ask that question yet...to be honest while I was finally able to get into a 26/28 shirt and some pants during my first few years out...it wasn't until this year and these last 40lbs pounds that I can say I have actually gone DOWN in sizes. Yes...lost close to 200lbs and never really changed sizes.... Sarah

Rina, I had my surgery on August 9th. My starting weight was 335 and I am now 310. My scale has not moved in like almost 2 weeks. It seems like when I went to soft foods I hit a standstill. I started losing again when I started consuming more water. I think once I was not getting enough fluids my body maybe held on to them, I noticed I was not putting out what I was taking in. I would be careful at the gym, I have been swimming so its not so hard on my body. I hope that helps you but I feel exactly like you do right now, we are about at the same stage. Darlene

My surgery was 7-19-06. I'm down 30lbs. from 250 pre-op to 220 post-op. I had lost 20lbs at 2 weeks post op ....then I stalled for 4 weeks then like overnight it seemed ... I dropped 10lbs. I was thinking all the worst things. Like the surgery didn't work for me....or that i was doing or eating something wrong. Or that I was just a failure as usual. And none of that was true. Just be patient with yourself. Follow the guidelines your nutritionist and/or doctor has set for you and know that you will drop the weight. I hope this is helpful. Suuz
