How long do you wait before speaking with a plastic surgeon?
From what I have read, most plastic surgeons want you to have reached your goal and maintained your weight at least 6 months and some want a year or so. There are wonderful people on the board who have reached that point and have had plastic surgery, so I'm sure they can give you some great feedback on this.
Congratulations on the awesome weight loss!
Betty

Thanks alot Joanne and Betty for your reply. I don't plan on doing the plastics for about a year or so from now but was just intersted in hearing about some surgeons that various people in the area have used and if they were happy with their results from them. I also want to lose about another 15 pounds or so.
Gail,
I began interviewing plastic surgeons at 10 months out. I was near my wl goal which I reached on my 1 yr. anniversary. I interviewed 9 plastic surgeons and chose Dr. Bernard Shuster of Hollywood, FL I've had 2 surgeries with him, full facial ps (brow lift, upper & lower lids, face & neck lift) and a lower body lift. I plan to have one more surgey with him, breast lift with augmentation & arm lift later this year. I've been very pleased with my results.
He requires you to be at a stable weight & to have maintained that weight for at least 3 months.
Good luck!

Gail,I had my plastics 1 year after my WLS. I had mine in NY where I live until I become a snow bird in October :>
My PS was fine with doing mine as I was already wearing a size 4 and was already at dr's goal and a few pounds from my own goal.
It has made a hugh difference in my shape and I could not be happier. I have details on my profile.
Every PS has different criteria for doing the surgery. I hightly recommend you research both the drs and the types of surgeries they do. If they have had a lot of experience with WLS patients is VERY important.
Wish you the best on you continued success.
