Hi Everybody, I went to my first post op appointment with my surgeons nurse pratitioner. She went over all my symptoms from head to toe and said everything I was feeling and should start to go away in the next 2-4 weeks. She said my incisions look great. I have lost a total of 26lbs since the day of surgery (which is just under a month). She said I was doing fantastic, and the liver biopsy they did, she said I had the healthiest liver they ever saw in a gastric bypass patient, no fatty liver, no disease what so ever. I found that hard to believe because of all the meds I have been on for the last 15 years (like how did that happen). I go back in December for my 1st followup with Dr. Gallagher, I just hope I continue to do well. I can advance my diet to start regular foods in a little over 2 weeks. Overall, I would say great visit. Hope everyone out there is doing well. Patty

Thanks Angie, This part has been easy in one way because I am not hungry at all. Now trying to get all the protein in is my struggle, but I try everyday. Patty

Hi Renee, Thank you. Keep us posted on how you are doing. This morning when I went to the harborside building at TGH, I should have used valet parking. I was literally exhausted walking from the far side of the parking garage. It was good exercise but didn't like the shortness of breath. I hope you feel better soon. Patty

Hi Betty, Thank you. The place I can tell I have lost the most is my face it has thinned out. My shorts are getting a little baggy. My sister and a friend of hers saw me today and they say they see it in my stomach and hips (that is where I carry most of my weight). How are you doing now that you are just at a week post op. I hope your doing well. Patty

I'm feel like I'm doing pretty well as far as I can tell. Just the usual complaints from the trauma of the surgery and the things to be expected. Thanks for asking! Betty

Patty, I am so glad that you are recovering so well. I hope it won't be too long before I get to join you at the post op meetings when my turn comes around. Take care, GladysS

Hi Gladys Thank you, yes I am feeling stronger every day. I can't wait until we can all start going to the post op meetings. I am going to go this month, the one last month I just wasn't strong enough yet. So have you heard anything from your insurance yet. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. I sincerely hope you get approved the first go round. I have another friend that wants to have surgery with Dr. Murr and she finished her 6month supervised diet and they called her today with her consult appointment. So hopefully she will get approved too. Hope you have a great night. Patty
