How Much Time Off From Work
For the VSG I have no idea. But that also goes hopefully there is no complication.
I had my RNY but 5 days later had a Hernia Op too. but I was home three days later.
Then two weeks later getting my staples out I was expecting to get back to work the following week. WELL that changed. My hernia Incision decided to re-open it's self.
Tomorrow will be my first day back to work. As I had a Home Care Nurse every day changing my bandages including repacking the hole . They told me if I returned to work they'd have to report it to my insurance cancelling the Home visits as though I was well enough to see my Primary everyday. It's been 14 weeks since I last worked.
I had to borrow from my brother to pay some bills.
God Bless your surgeon & you on your Wonderful Day jumping to be a Loser.
Mike
I'm not familiar with the VSG but I would say call your surgeon & ask how much time he wants you to take off then decide if you think you'll feel up to returning to work within his time frame. If he gives you a range (3-6 weeks) try to get off for the maximum amount of time if you can afford it. Your body will thank you off the extra rest & recuperation and you'll have a better handle on your food & eating by the time you return. Good luck!

I had my surgery last december, i was a preschool teacher at the time, so i did it over winter break, which was only a week, so i added a few extra weeks and was off in 5 weeks in total. But that's because of my job, i knew i couldnt deal with little kids so soon after. I wish u much luck in your new life to come, hang in there, it will be worth everything.
Best regards,
Joanne
