OH Conference 2007 - What would you like to be/not be Included
Ok we've had time to think of what we've just experienced at this recently past
OH Conference in Fort Lauderdale. So now it's your turn:
1. What did you like?
2. What didn't you like?
3. What subject(s) would like covered next year?
4. What subject(s) would you Not care to be cover (again)?
5. Anything you like to see happen?
Of course we'd all like to have the conference in our own back yard. Unless
of course you can't wait to just get out of the house and out of town. LOL.
But you have to wait your turn. There are many towns and years to come in Florida.
So please post and speak your mind. I want to know! So planning can begin.

Paula, Monica just emailed me asking for dates to choose from so Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, I'll get dressed and go to several hotels and convention arenas and start to gather info as too how much and dates available. I used to be in the Concert & Record Company Promoting Business up North in VA./NC. and this can't be much different. Gathering sponsors and such. I'll even ask the Chambers of Commerce to help. I've already contacted "Unjury - protein shakes, and their interested. And of course my Surgeon, Dr.Rehnke said he'd be a Sponsor too. His brother is a Plastic Surgeon. But who will Sponsor will be involved. It's a Tax write-off for them!
And Julie Douglass, Morton Plants Bariactric Coordinator wants to help too (she was in your fashion show). I'm hoping to have something Pre-wise to hand out to the Bariactric Staffs at the "Walk from Obesity" Event in Tampa Bay, Sept. 30th. Which Julie is in charge of this year. I think she was last year too. Plus I'll be sending letters out to a few Special Guest to which I'm hoping they'll be interested in coming to motivate & talk.
So to find a few places & dates available. Then back to Monica to choose the date.
She has expressed October or November 2007. Any info you wish to share would be greatly appreciated. As well as anyone else, Thanks, Mike

Mike--I will definitly try to come up with some suggestions--but just for now--I thought it might be a good idea to look at some of the 'downtown' hotels as usually they are busy with business stuff during the week and pretty good week-end rates can be negotiated. I love the idea of October or early November. Since this would be more of a 'national' event I think it is great to have it in a place and time when people want to visit--ie not Florida in July of August. Actually--I don't know where I got the 'national event' idea--I may have just dreamed it up. I'll email some other suggestions later.
I think and will make this a National Conference beyond the Local Advertisements of Local Surgeons. To attract those all over these Unted States, Carribean and where ever else the word may be sent. Yes locals will be involved but all in the entire area if not the whole state. I intend to set a standard of Excellence that future conferences will need to live up too. Not just advertising for the Local Bariactric & Plastic Surgeons.
Which in these past two years has been. There will be many vendors and giveaways not only in door prizes but actual for everyone. Such as Theme Park's Tickets and I'm hoping for a cruise for two, maybe a couple of them. And several other attraction give-aways. That's why people come to Florida, then why not.
I also plan on setting a Theme beyond the "OH Conference" such as the one I've set up on my OH Profile. Would it be something if I could get him to come sing it to us.
And other national figures as speaking motivators.
I'll be out the rest of this week and next scouting locations and dates & of course pricing. But the week before the "Walk from Obesity" and November I'll be gaining the Sponsorship needed to make this dream a reality.
