I can't believe it finally here. I can't believe I survived that awful Mag Citrate. Need some reassurance everyone....While trying to hurry my rearend to the BR, I pulled my calf muscle...I heard an awful snap and down she went. I can barely gimp around on it. I'm afraid to go to the ER b/c they may say I can't have the surgery. I'm not sure what to do. There's no way to walk normal on it. Any suggestions? renee

Renee I want to wish you lots of luck. It's always exciting when it comes down to just a few hours to go....... Listen, I have NO medical knowledge but pulling a calf muscle sounds PAINFUL and scary. Is it swollen? Is it discolored? What worries me is you say you can't walk on it. When you are getting prepped for surgery (at least for me and my husband) they asked if we had fallen, had any open sores, bruises, wounds, etc.. etc.. Walking is VITAL post-op. One huge complication from ANY surgery is PE (blood clots) and the best way to avoid that is to walk, walk, walk. If it were me (and it's VERY EASY for me to say because it isn't me..) But if it were me I would GO TO THE ER NOW. I would call my surgeon's service and let them know RIGHT NOW that I have pulled something in my leg, I can't walk and I'm on my way to the ER. Good luck Sweety. I hope everything works out for you...... XOXO

Did y ou ice it? Pain, redness, tenderness, able to put weight on it at all? Let your doc know, perhaps its just a pulled muscle, lets hope. I pray all goes well, keep us posted on your surgery. Mag citrate is no fun, but your adventure will be....I pray God's hand of peace and guidance upon you and your doc. May you sense His presence around. In Jesus'name, amen. blessings, tami

If you don't go to the ER, I would at least call your surgeon's office tonight, and ask to speak to the surgeon on call. They would be the best to advise you about whether to go to the ER or whether your surgery can be done tomorrow or not. I hope you can proceed, and that all goes well for you. Sheryl
