OT HELLO FLORIDA PEOPLE LOOKING FOR INFO

Hi sunshine folks. I am looking for a little help. My wife and I are taking a cruise out of Ft Lauderdale the end of October. We will have one day in the Miami / Ft Lauderdale area. We are looking for suggestions on what we should do / see during that time? We will have a rental car. Thanks for any help you might be able to provide. Rick

Hi, What do you and your wife like to do...? There are tons of things to do...I can hook you up with specifics if you give me a better idea... Shopping? Aventura Mall is close to Ft. Laudardale...nice...Bayside (downtown) is touristy and some of the siteseeing boats to the stars houses launch from there. Gambling/Shopping? Hard RockSeminole Casino in Hollywood Museums...lots Viscaya gardens Miami Sequariam, Parrot Jungle Island are a couple animal type places... Hope that helps, Sarah

Sarah, Thanks for your reply. We are not into shopping, we like aquariums, sight seeing, and lookie looing. Can you tell me how long it would take to drive down to the Florida Key's and if that is something worth doing? Also what about a short trip into the Everglades? They are all scheduled to hit New England and the Carolinas this year...didn't you hear? But no major ones....of course.... The keys...Key Largo is 2 hours...there is a state park you could do glass bottom boat tours...or I know a nice snorkel charter boat if interested. Key West 4 hours...do-able...I've driven down and back in a day. I can get you the information of an airboat tour place in the Everglades..it's at work. BTW...that's what I do...student activites at a university...so we do on campus events...but we also plan trips for the students...lucky you! Sarah Margaret
