Just want to say Hi!

Hi Everyone, I just wanted to say hi and introduce my self to the florida group. I live in Oviedo, Seminole county. I have just signed up within the week. I am a pre-op newbie and have just started the journey to surgery. I didn't know if anyone was close by to my area and could give my a referral of a willing PCP. I really don't go to the doctor so I am hoping this won't be a problem when it comes to my history for the surgeon. I am also seriously considering a "Mini gastric bypass" thru CLOS. Anyone heard anything good or bad? I really appreciate the feed back , Kesia

Welcome to the board! I live in Orlando. I don't really have a PCP to suggest, I dont go to the doctor either. lol. Good luck with your journey!

Kesia, I'm too far away to give you any doctor's names, but wanted to welcome you to the FL board. I read about the Mini gastric bypass when I was researching the kind of wls I wanted, but from what I read, the mini gb is no longer a favored procedure & is no longer performed much. I would do alot of research before deciding on which procedure to have. There are great books available at the bookstores (some you might need to order) but you public library may have some on hand, too. Of course, the internet is a great resource and this website has much info about the various procedures.
