I'm new

That is new to Florida. Just moved here from California on March 23. I live in DeLand, visited here about 7 years ago with my hubby and I told him that if we moved to Florida ever, I liked DeLand. Well here we are. I need some imput... I'm looking for a good doctor, as opposed to a bad one?? I'm 28 months post op. Doing well, but I need to find a place to go for the regular check up stuff. I definalty need to get my blood checked. Its been too long ( this I have been bad on). I was hoping that someone locally could suggest a Doc. Not a specialist, but a General Practician who is sympathectic or supportive of GB patients. I don't want to run into someone that does not believe in GB. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hello, Welcome I live in Sanford right now, so were not too far away. I have a nice Gereral Practician DR that I just found. He was referred to me last month by Heather on this Fl board. He helped her get approved for her GB a few years ago, so I know would be good for you. Hey ya'll~ thanks for the warm welcome. I'm sure Lake Mary isn't too far, but one of my goals when moving to Florida was... smaller town, stay as local as possible (but not with friends, I'd go anywhere for them) with docs, shopping, and the necessities of life. I left a city of 275,000 and I like the smaller community life. I am determined to find a doc her in DeLand. There has to be a few good ones to choose from. They don't need to specialize in GB, just be supportive of it. It's kind of funny, now when I drive just to Orange City from DeLand it already seems so far away. I work less then 2 miles from my home at a job that I enjoy. My boss is more like a good friend. But with the proper respect. We don't pal around or anything like that, but boy do we get along. So, any way thanks for all of the "welcomes" from everybody here.

K D, Sorry I'm too far away to help you with a doc, but wanted to welcome you to Florida - land of sushine, mosquitos, humidity, giant "palmetto bugs", humditity, hurricanes, did I mention humidity??? This time of year FL isn't fun, but from Nov. to May you can't beat it! If you can make it to the OH Conference in Ft. Lauderdale Aug. 19 find me & introduce yourself. I went to the conference last year and it was a lot of fun & I made some new friends. You'll find the FL board full of friendly, helpful folks! Vickie J.
