surgury denied by BCBS, Federal of Florida

I was just denied by BCBS because "benefits for the procedure/service are contractually excluded. Can you help? Please email me at [email protected] because I'm not a computer proficient person but I do know how to get emails and send them. Thanks. Sandy

Do you have a copy of your policy? Is there a written exclusion?

Oh I'd love to help anyone fight BCBS right now...at the top of the OH page under insurance there is a link the Appeals Help. There should be a sample letter. You can call...no one will talk you...you are the patient. They only want to hear from the surgeon's office. Get all the policies and memo's they used to make their decisions then get all your documents to counter theirs and send in as much paper as your can but make sure you have a good cover letter that quickly summaries your case to the point as to WHY they should have to cover your surgery! I am amazed that your were turned down because I also have a BCBS federal policy and it was so easy to be approved once I submitted all the necessary documents they require. Have you called the customer hotline and spoke to a BCBS representative? They were very helpful when I called for any reason. Good luck and don't give up.
