Medipass Provider here in Hollywood Florida

I can now post my Doctor since I had my first consult today. I will be seeing Dr.Thomas Bass. There is a Dr. Cohen there as well.The number is (954)966-8559. He works out of Memorial Regional Hospital. I have chosen to do the RNY. They were really shocked I had completed most of the things that were required. I had everthing ready to go in a folder. I was already aware that I would have to pay for there nutritionist. That is $550 dollars and then $200 is due for something else( in order to keep there five star excellence) on last day of consultation. I was able to save $330 by going to the phychitrist and getting a clearance before I switched to medipass. That was terrific. I have my first pre op nutrition on Thursday 13th. I will then need one more visit and back to final consult. Papers will be sent off to insurance company. She says that it could take about four weeks with my insurance. She says I will be having the surgery late August or Early September. Hopefully Everthing goes well!!! I can't wait. P.S Oh.... Marriage problems are starting already. My husband was suppose to meet me for the consult today. He never showed up. He got off work and went straight home. To my surprise he was in the bed sleeping when I returned. Thanks to you guys for all your support and help. You all have been very helpful. I love this website!

Hi Cherina, Good for you. I am happy to hear that youare on your way. I know what you mean about all of the fees. I had my sugery done in December at Florida Medical Center on Oakland park. I live one town over from you in Davie. Dont worry about your hubby. It is sometimes hard for them to keep up with al the things we have to do as it relates to surgery, just let him know what is going on every step of the way. Give me a holler if you need a shoulder. Hi Cherina, I looked through my notes and found that I spoke to Dr Bass' office last December. My notaion indicates that he doesn't take out-of-town patients >50 miles. I live in Tampa. I'm going to call tomorrow morning to see if the new doctor changes things, or if there has been a general policy change. Sorry to hear about your husband... Thanks for posting valuable info! Trish

Cherina Dr Thomas Bass was my Dr too. I had my LapRNY on 8/15/05. I've lost 130 lbs and feeling so GOOD!! CONGRATULATIONS on getting your WLS Journey started. I wish you all the very best. Keep us posted. Maybe I will met you at one of the support grps. Priscilla
