So ok.. I've been out enjoying my new life lately, and yesterday Josh and I decided to go to Busch Gardens. I've been dying to ride some of the rollercoasters, ecspecially Sheikra. I haven't been able to ride anything unless it has a lap belt in a long time. If it goes over the shoulders, no way. It's been that way for atleast 6 years.. maybe 7. I told my husband.. I'm gonna ride that ride. Ofcourse.. he doesn't like roller coasters, so he didn't go. I waited in the 45 minute line only to find out that I waz a little over HALF A FREAKING INCH from having the restraint to snap. I got off the ride, my pride hurt, embarrassed and PO'd. I walked down the steps back to where my husband was waiting for me... and when I saw him .. I just bawled. I've done so much and tried so hard... and still. I haven't really had any great WOW moments. I'm still in the same clothes I was in when I started this journey!! Things have gotten a little bit looser, but still. I've lost over 65lbs... and still feel like nothing has happened... Anyone else out there? I'm doing everything I'm supposed to do (except for forgetting to take my supplements... oops - don't harp on this.. I don't wanna hear it) I'm working out atleast 3 hours a week.. I'm not eating anymore than 800 calories, and most days I'm lucky to get that! I'm getting atleast 60 grams of protien, I rarely have any kind of "Treat" and I ussually get enough liquids. Ok.. I'm done. Sorry.. but thanks for listening

Well I have to commend you for getting out there and trying. I may be forward but that much. I won't try going to a theme park for at least a year Post-op. That took a lot of guts (oh your losing them.LOL) but don't let that results way you from trying new things. Be proud of yourself. I am. Will we meet you in Ft.Lauderdale? We'll be seeing you lighter later, Mike

Mike, Thanks for the encouragment.. I dunno about Ft. Lauderdale... Probably. We'll see as it gets closer to it. When your doctor clears you for normal activities, you should try out Seaworld.. its a great work out, and mostly shows, only 3 rides, so you wont have to worry bout rides too much!

Hey girl, I have to agree with Mike and totally commend you on going and trying!! That totally takes a lot of guts!! But I do know how you're feeling. When I first had the lapband last year I lost like 55lbs in 2-3 months and I could NOT notice any difference whatsoever. I didn't have any of that "new found energy" people are always talking about, NOTHING!! Yes like you said the clothes were a little looser, people did say I was looking good, but to me... NOTHING. Like now with the RNY, I know I'm only a month out and I"ve lost I think around 25-27lbs, I'll know for sure tomorrow when I go see Kevin, but I don't see a difference, or feel one. It's totally frustrating!! And it SUCKS!! But hey you are doing GREAT, you look GREAT!! I love the new pics!! Just hang in there and you'll get you're WoW moment when you least expect it and I bet it'll be one that you'll remember forever!!! Jo Ann

Jo Ann, Thanks for the encouragement.. I know we all have days like this.... when we become so obsessed over the stupid, small and meaningless, and even though, I walked around all day yesterday, rarely got tired and was able to use a normal lapbelt on almost any thing I wanted to ride.. I get impatient and frustrated. I know I didnt put all this weight on in 6 months, and its gonna take alot more than 6 months to shed it all again.. but I feel like Violet from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.. I want it and I want it now!! Amy

I am sorry that happened. You are doing really great though. 65 lbs that is wonderful. Don't let this get you down and discouraged. You will get there. I am suprised you haven't lost a size or two by now. with a weight loss of that much. I know I don't want to go out a buy new clothes right now so I am wearing a lot of the same things, but I can fit in things that are smaller. Keep up the good work. We love you.

Amy, 80lbs! How wonderful! Girl don't sweat that ride another second because the next time you go you know you will be able to ride it with no worries! You will have conquered Sheikra!!! I am that way about flying. I tell everyone that I don't fly. They all think it is because I am afraid to but the truth is that I don't want to deal with the humiliation of having to purchase two seats or getting an extender. So when I lose enough weight (after I finally get my surgery) then I will get on a plane and triumphantly sit in my one seat and fasten my extenderless seat belt and soar up into the wild blue yonder! Amy I am proud of all that you have accomplished. You are doing good at keeping up with your calories, proteins, liquids and water and it's working. One day soon those same clothes you're wearing will fall right off of your body. You hang in there girl and keep up the good work that you are doing! I am very happy and proud of you! Kat
