I wish I never called BEFORE my vacation...I was just so DEPRESSED, so we came back early..Yeah i know I SUK!!! Can amyone help me on an appeal, if this reason is "appealable" if thats A word..LOL Thanks !! [email protected]

What a bummer, Julie!! And definitely not something you want to find out before your vacation. I would think that is one thing that would be "appealable" especially if you meet their requirements in all other areas. Sounds to me it is just one of the "excuses" they use to try to get people to change their mind and go away. Hope you can get some help with an appeal. I would suggest getting some good advice before you enter your appeal because I think you are limited to how many times you can appeal and you want it to be right the first time. I'm just now waiting on my first answer from the insurance, so I don't have a lot of answers, but there are lots of people here who have been through it and can point you in the right direction, I am sure. Good Luck! Betty

Hi Julie, Aetna denied me repeatedly. I used Walter and Kelly Lindstrom at obesitylaw.com, and I was approved. They do free consults, and won't take a case that they feel the cannot win. Just a thought, since you have a finite number of appeals available to you. Kristen

Julie - I'M SOOO SORRY to hear this and this is sooo ridiculous!! Where is it written that the BMI has to be 40 or over for 5 years? Never heard of that.......you've done everything right...now listen to Kristen and check out Obesitylaw.com.........also call Patrice and see what she can do to help you make approval and DON'T GIVE UP!!!!!! Lots of people have been denied and fought.......I'm here for you, Girl!!!!!!!!

I was just thinking about you the other day....I'm so sorry - hugs....now, lets get up and FIGHT!!!!! I got denied the first time too. Check out the aforementioned appeal letters. I had my primary write one and he also sent a boatload of copies of weight loss attempts during the time I was overweight, etc. I did get approved. So, even though you are major bummed now, channel it into your fighting mode and lets get this approved!! Its not over yet. Keep us posted and we will cheer you on!!!!! hugs, cheering you on, and I'll see you in the boxing ring!!!! love, Tami

I dont understand why they deny this all the time. do they not know if we are healther that it would not cost less. I just dont get it. dont give up like I did this week. I will go back to fighting now. thanks everyone for all the post. it is the only thing that keeps me going with this. Kimberly
