Here I sit...waiting and waiting

My approval was faxed to insurance company Monday morning. But....I found out today that my doctor's office called to check on status and they told her they had not received it. She said she was going to call again today and check, and if they didn't have it she was going to fax it again. She said sometimes one rep will give you different answer than the next person you talk to. I'll just be glad when they own up to having received it; then I will know the real waiting period begins. Keeping my fingers crossed. Until later .......... Betty

Hi Betty, I can certainly understand your frustration. I spoke to the appeals analyst handling my case on May 18th and she told me that they had overturned their original decision and that I was approved and that she had contacted my provider with the information. It took 3 weeks to the day for the hospital to verify that information and for me to get a date. I was getting impatient, but it finally happened. The insurance part of this journey has been the hardest on me so far. They originally faxed my paperwork in early to mid February and I just got a date last friday. It will happen hopefully sooner for you. Wishing you best wishes for a safe surgery and a speedy recovery. Patty

I agree. The waiting on the insurance part is probably the worst part of it all. I've tried all along to prepare myself for the insurance problems (and I think I am handling it well so far) because I've seen so many people get hung up at this stage of the process. You've definitely had your share. I had hope to have my surgery while school was out, but that is becoming less and less of a possibility as time goes on. I'm rolling with the punches though. I figure the good Lord above will grant my approval when the time is right. Best wishes to you too! I hope you have a wonderful journey!! Betty

Betty call the insurance company yourself too. Double team them. It shows them your really serious. Good Luck, Mike

I went through kind of the same thing with my insurance company. It is all in my profile. It can be so frustrating. I think they just try to see far they can push your buttons and make you wait.

Yeh, I figure they do everything they can to make you just give up and go away! I don't plan on doing that, so they might as well just approve me from the start.
