Just out of curiousity, if anyone has been pregnant after WLS, have they still had morning sickness? Does the surgery effect that at all? Sounds stupid, I know but I am just curious. Thanks

I am 37 weeks preg and have had a terrible time with it because of WLS. It had to get enought nutrition and energy from your food. I never had morning sickness but throw up everyday due to the WLS. The baby sits right on my pouch and does not allow all my food to pass. I will be happy to tell you more if you are intrested. Best of luck heather

Tell me more! My boyfriend and I are trying to have a baby and I was wondering how that goes after having WLS. How long since your surgery? Did you have any trouble getting pregnant? Were you trying? How long did it take if you were? Is it tough getting in all the protein and nutrition needed? Sorry to ask so many questions but I am really curious. Thanks again, candice

HI there! I'm 32 weeks pregnant. I had a little morning sickness, but less then the pre surgery pregnancy. I am 2 years out from the RnY. I haven't had a problem with the nutrition or keeping anything down yet. I want carbs all the time. the OB said that is normal..... It's hard to keep to the WLS diet. I know I"m eating more then I should... but the weight gain has been ok and it will be worth it.... I'm sure. THey can't do the Glucose tollerance test because of dumping so we do a fasting blood sugar once a month. Let me know if there is anything else I can do. Kathy
