I just realized today that it would be in my best interest to see the psychiatrist, nutritionist, and do my sleep apnea and other test before leaving staywell. If I was to wait until I see the surgeon on July 11th. I will have to pay $500 to see the nutritionist and $300 for the psychiatrist. Staywell will pay for them both ( with an approval from your pcp). I'm getting everything I can before switching to medipass on the 1st of July. I have my appointments for them both; Therefore I can hand him everything in one folder on the 11th. Let's get this party started! So to all those who have been replying to me with medicaid. I would like to say there is hope. Never give up. Keep trying over and over again. Sometimes after calling several people. I'm ready to throw my hands up in the air and quit. That's when I try again and it happens. Another piece to this puzzle is added. It is all starting to come together. Bit by bit, but I'm getting there. I also stop by to my pcps' office and drop lots of krispy kreme doughnuts by them. I like to show them that I appreciate the fact, when I need something they get it done quickly. ( being nice has its priveliges) I've learned that good gestures bring good results. They'll even add things to help the approval along. Sorry for the chatter. I'm so happy I caught that before being out of $800 dollars. Oh yeah LETS GO MIAMI HEAT!

Take them fruit instead. I always take my PCP baked goods because they are SUPER...and the last time I saw her she was telling me how one day they had bagels and 3 cakes brought in by different patients. She said "I'm going to need to see Dr. Byers" (tnat's my surgeon). So I the next time I go in I'm going to some lighter fare. So a quick and easy Publix fruit tray would work! But I'm sure they would appreciate anything!!! You are soo right being nice gets you more than being rude. My PCP's office would do anything for me...as would my PCP. Best wishes on your journey. And glad to be able to put a face with the name!

Congratulations, it is always nice to save some of that hard earned stuff. Just keep at it and little by little the efforts will pay off. It took me over a year to get my surgery, not with you insurance. But just to let you know there is hope.
