Hi Linda, I am Donna and I live in the panhandle of Florida. I spoke with a girl today who had her surgery 3 years ago and she was saying that RNY patients tend to lose their weight back within 5 years and that it is a struggle. She said she exercises a lot everyday and works at keeping it off. So, that being said, I know it is a struggle to keep your weight off wheather you have had surgery of not. I am 47, married (2nd time around) for 16 years and happy this time. I have one biological child who is married and pregnant (due in August) and 2 step children who are married and between them 3 grand sons. My husband and I have a chihuahua together.LOL I am having a lap band on Thursday June 8th. I am excited. tell me about yourself and your life. take care donna

Hello, I live in Ft. Lauderdale and had lap band surgery with Dr. Marema on 6/9/06. Feel free to e-mail me. Has anyone else noticed that S. Florida seems to be the only area that doesn't have an active support group (ie meetings not associated with their surgeons?) -Susan
