Need RNY revision surgery
Wow....sorry to hear that you need to have a revision...that is difficult when you have stretched your pouch - but definately not unheard of. Unfortunately there are many surgeons office that would do a revision - for example - my doc Dr. Todd Overcash would do the revision (has he has done hundreds of them) 352-368-2828. However without insurance you may have to go the self pay route (his fees are the lowest per infor I have) or try Medicare, or Vocab Rehab. Call Patrice from the Office and see what your options are. Good luck to you!
I am really sorry this has happened. I cannnot imagine how hurt and disappointed you are that the surgery did not work for you. Unfortunately sometimes it does not work. Sometimes there are mechanical failures in the surgery itself and sometimes things just go wrong over time. Whatever the cause of the failure, I hope you are able to get the help that you need.
Do you qualify for medicaid? Or, if you are also looking for work you might try vocational rehab. Or have thought about changing jobs to an employer that you know is WLS friendly (i.e. offers insurance coverage)?

Candice-
Do you mean the revision? I suppose it depends on when the failure is detected. Sometimes there are mechanical failures with the surgery and it has nothing to do with whether or not you have stretched your pouch. You can do everything right and the surgery still fails. I believe there is a revisions forum here at OH, you probably could get a lot more information there. There are a few people on the DS forum who have had been revised from RNY or lap band to the DS because they either did not lose the weight or they started gaining again.
I believe it wrong to assume because someone thinks they may need a revision that they have stretched their pouch and been non-compliant -- that may not be the case at all. There are many ways the surgery can go wrong. The pouch could have been made too large in the first place -- one may have been made proximal when they should have been medial or distal. There are a couple of ways the RNY is revised. And then some people decide they should have had the DS to start with.
