low carb bread
You can eat it, but it will probably fill you up quickly and not leave much room for more nutrient rich foods. For whatever reason, I have an easier time with dried breads like crackers or even toast. I can not imagine that low carb bread would be any different than regular bread in as far as your ability to eat it, but if you are like I was at 3 weeks out you will not be able to eat enough bread to worry too much about carb counts anyway.
I also have to take it slow with rice and pasta, but I can eat potato chips and popcorn fairly easy (go figure
)

If your surgeon allows bread, yes you should be able to eat low carb bread. At 3 weeks out, I was allowed to have toasted bread only, but I could only eat 1/2 slice or less. One of my favorite "meals" was double cheese toast - 1/2 slice bread with 1 slice fat free cheese folded in 1/2 on top and toasted.
Go easy on the bread & be sure to toast it well. Even at 16 months out, I still have a hard time eating "soft" or "dough-y" breads. They sit like a rock in my pouch!

Hey Nadine,
Honestly you need to stay away from all carbs till 6 months out. Protein, fruits and veges only. I know dieticians may differ, but when you research you will see the most success comes from diets rich in protein,fruits and veges. carbs are empty calories and they helped us get to this condition in the first place. I urge you to just not do it, get rid of the carbs and start traiing yourselfnow to eat differently. Let this amazing tool work for you, especially in the first6mnths. I am not trying to sound harsh, just giving you some reality advice from someone who's been there. There will be a tieme for a few carbs, and now it not it! Great job on the 25 lbs though!!
