Hello everyone!!! Today was one big step closer to getting my voice heard by staywell. I filed a grievance and faxed the information they requested on the 13th of this month. They were suppose to call me back within 72 hours. I never received a response. I've called them everyday trying to get feedback on my release from the HMO to medipass. My PCP called them this morning only to be told she has to call them back their system is down. I made one phone call to their coporate office and she got Tamie(the person over my case)on the phone in no time. Wow... She claims she will find me a surgeon within their network. I'm really hoping she doesn't find a doctor. If so they will require me to do a six month supervised diet. I really dont have six months to waste. At 333 lbs. Six months from now even on a diet. I will still be obese. If they go ahead and switch me to medipass the surgeon says "I dont have to do the six months. I can start right ahead with my pysch & nutrition to start the procedure. What a day! Everyday that goes by I've been in pain. I get tingling in my hands and legs. They get numb and I cant feel them. I guess they want me to experience this for six months more

Cherina- Have they tried getting you the surgery based on the diagnosis of the nueropathy in your hands and legs? It might be worth a shot. If you can't get out of Staywell talk to your surgeon about talking to your neurologist about putting some pressure on the insurance company. I do not have a clue if this will work but it is certainly worth a shot. Red

Oh and another thought. If you have to stay with staywell-- even if the people to whom you are talking are telling you supervised diet and such -- you might have better luck if your surgeon requests a peer to peer review. In light of the severe problems you are having in a peer to peer review it might be waived. In a peer to peer review your doctor talks to their doctor and they discuss your case. It may not work but here again it is worth a shot. Red
